Hello K Families!
How is it that we have arrived at the end of the school year already? We are so honored to have shared in your child's education, and we look forward to watching them grow next year in first grade!
Report cards will be going home in backpacks on Tuesday, June 12th. Wednesday, June 13th is the last day for students. It is a half day, and it is also Field Day! Please send in a plain white T-Shirt for your child before Wednesday. The dollar store has some!
Please check out the pictures- there are some great ones from our trip to Stonewall Farm, our dinosaur masks, and our 4 Winds trip to Lily Pond last Friday. We wish you a healthy, happy and safe summer!

Spring is in the air.
We were so pleased with the great turn out at conferences. It is so important that we work together supporting your child. Currently we have started learning about Nursery Rhymes, Fairy Tales, Tall Tales, and Folk Tales. We are learning about number sentences and how to represent numbers with objects in math. In science we are getting ready to plant our seeds for gifts and for our class garden. In social studies we are learning about our school community and our town. We have been collaborating on art and written pieces for our upcoming book night. Please mark your calendars and invite family members. May 3rd at 6:30, see you there.

In Like a Lion...
Happy March!
True to the saying, March came in like a Lion! We hope you enjoyed your snowday. Today, March calendars will be coming home. Please help your child post it in a central place (such as the fridge) and cross out each day as it happens. If your child returns the calendar at the end of the month, they will be able to choose a prize!
Your child has chosen a book order book, a gift from Mrs. Dias and Ms. Eriksson. We will be sending in the orders on March 10th. If you would like to order some other books from the book order for your child please go to Scholastic.com and place your order before the 10th. Look on the top of our web page for the code for your class. Your orders help out your class as well as great books for home.
Have a great weekend!

February Calendars
Your child will be bringing home a calendar for February. We have shown them how to label the days, and holidays for the month. Additionally, they will need to cross off each day as it passes. Please help your child with this process. These are important number and organizational skills. If your child brings his or her calendar back at the end of the month, he/ she will be able to choose a prize!

January Kindergarten News
Greetings Kindergarten Families!
We have been busy over the past few weeks. We have had our first Chinese classes, and we've started to learn about the Chinese New Year, which was January 23rd. This is the year of the Dragon, so we have made dragon puppets and illustrated some pictures.
We had a visit from the Vernon Preschool, during which the children shared a snack, did an art activity, and had choice time together. We were very impressed at how well our Kindergartners welcomed the Preschoolers, and wanted to play and share with them.
The children have been enjoying recess time in the snow! Please make sure your child comes to school each day with snow pants, boots, a hat, mittens or gloves, and a warm jacket. It is important to mark your child's name inside of clothing to avoid mix-ups! It would also be a good idea to keep an extra pair of sweat pants and socks in your child's backpack in case they get wet outside.
We will be sending home a class list for Valentines. Please send in a Valentine for each child in your child's class. You are welcome to send in a card for all 23 children if you wish. We will have Valentine's Day parties on February 14th- more details to come in a letter home.
We will enjoy a visit from the 4 Winds Program tomorrow, January 27th. Ask your children to tell you what they learned!
Remember to play the "Racing Bears" math game over the weekend!
Stay warm,
Kelly and Beth
